New Release! An Apocalyptic Need

AnApocalypticNeed

She might be the enemy. He might have to take her down. But all he really wants to do is make slow, sweet love to her.

Grimm Forbes has been captured by sexy spaceship Captain Cari Pascale and turned into her sex vassal. But, as alliances conspire to take down his old friends at the Authority, Grimm worries that the woman who ignites his sexual fantasies might be at the epicenter of the treachery. It’s possible he’ll have to make a choice between his friends and the woman he wants in his bed. He only prays he has the strength to make the right decision, because the consequences of making the wrong one will be apocalyptic.

~~*~~

Grimm tossed and turned on the too-soft bed. His body was hot, hard and ached with unfulfilled lust. He’d managed to doze a few times throughout the long, long night, but each time he’d been flung awake when Captain Cari Pascale entered his dreams, soft and sexy and lushly naked.

In his dreams he’d tasted her sweet flesh, spread her luscious thighs, and kissed his way over the soft, rounded contours of her body. But each time, before he could plunge deep within her willing flesh, his traitorous body had surged awake.

Denying him over and over again.

Grimm turned his head and found her, a small rise along the floor beside her bed. Her long, blond tresses glowed brightly, a brilliant star in the near dark. He’d already figured out how to open his cell door. But she was a light sleeper and he wasn’t sure he could get to her before she woke. The element of surprise was important. Or he’d find himself facing her oxygen blaster.

Seduction didn’t work as well when firepower was involved.

A soft sound brought Grimm’s gaze snapping around. For a moment he thought he’d imagined it, but then the door to Cari’s quarters slid open on a breath of air. His fingers closed around the knife he’d stolen from his guard earlier that day, certain that whoever entered was up to no good.

A tall figure slipped through the door, stepping into the shadows as it slid closed again. Grimm squinted into the dark, trying to see the intruder. The narrow light bands arrayed along the floor illuminated a large pair of black boots and the glint of something long and metal in a gloved hand.

A blade! Cari!

The attacker could kill her before she even knew she was in danger. Alarm flared and Grimm tensed, ready to leap up and distract the intruder long enough for Cari to arm herself. He very slowly pulled the blankets away from his legs so he wouldn’t get tangled in them when he lunged.

The figure across the room shifted, his hand with the knife coming up as he took a step.

Grimm braced himself against the frame of the narrow bed, ready to leap.

But the figure with the knife didn’t move toward Cari. He started toward Grimm.

Grimm expelled a soft breath, loosening his bunched muscles as he relaxed back into the bed. The intruder was there for him.

That was good. He was ready.

New Release – HoHo Honeybun

hohohoneybun-510

He just wants her to take life a little more seriously. She’s decided he could have a point. Especially now that somebody wants her dead.

Dolfe Honeybun broke up with Blaise Runa because her party girl ways were driving him to distraction. Unfortunately, out of sight does NOT mean out of mind. And when his favorite party girl sees something she shouldn’t and finds herself being chased by a cold blooded killer… reason shuts down and Dolfe’s heart takes over. If only he can get to her in time!

Dolfe Honeybun stood in the shadows and watched his ex-girlfriend flirt with a tall, annoyingly good looking guy on line at a popular nightclub. She looked spectacular as usual, her long, slimly curved form lovingly embraced in some kind of shimmery white material which didn’t cover nearly enough of her.

He frowned as the man she was speaking to leaned forward, whispering something into Blaise’s ear as his hand slipped over her hip and stopped on her firm, round behind. Dolfe’s pressure spiked and he was moving forward before he could stop himself.

He crossed the street to the blare of horns, almost completely oblivious to oncoming traffic. Red flares were flashing in front of his eyes and his hands were clenched into fists. As he plummeted heart first into complete loss of control, Dolfe took some comfort in the fact he hadn’t pulled his gun.

It didn’t matter that Blaise deftly, and with a smile, removed the man’s hand from her delicious behind. It didn’t even matter that she walked away. Because the other guy’s lust-saturated gaze followed her sexy sway down the sidewalk, her heels click-clacking rhythmically on the concrete as she walked.

Dolfe decided in that moment the man had to die.

He headed straight for the cocky, overdressed buffoon who was accepting knuckle bumps from his friends by way of celebrating that he’d copped a feel from the gorgeous black woman with the million dollar smile.

Dolfe would rip him into such small pieces his friend Brita Muldane, the cop, wouldn’t even be able to find the body.

The weasel turned as Dolfe stormed toward him, his unintelligent blue eyes widening at the look on Dolfe’s face. He took a step back as Dolfe reached for him.

Dolfe’s ears roared. He could taste every beat of his heart as his pulse surged to the danger zone. And adrenaline had him by the throat as he grabbed pretty boy’s expensive tweed coat by the lapels and dragged him off the ground.

“Hey!” the guy’s friends coughed out. But when Dolfe turned his murderous gaze on them they lifted their hands and stepped back. Apparently judging their friend to be unworthy of having their own blood spilled.

Somewhere on the edges of Dolfe’s awareness a familiar click, clack, click, clack intruded, the sound speeding and getting louder as it got closer.

He shook the offensive pup like a rag doll and pressed his face close. The young punk stank of expensive cologne. He was damn lucky he didn’t smell like Blaise.

That would have signed his death warrant for sure.

Click, clack, click, clack…

The guy tried tugging Dolfe’s hands from his coat without any success. “What the hell, man?”

“You think that’s the right way to treat a lady?” Dolfe growled into his face.

The guy blinked under every word, as if he were being pelted with buckshot. “What lady?”

Dolfe’s growl deepened and the guy’s heels lifted another inch from the ground. “Wrong response, punk.”

Click, clack, click, clack…

“Hey come on, dude,” the guy whined. “Blaise is just a friend.”

“You always run your hands all over your friends’ asses?” Chuckling from the guy’s disloyal friends abruptly stopped as Dolfe skimmed them with a hostile, green glance. When they were properly quelled, Dolfe refocused his hostility where it belonged. “You want to feel up my behind?”

More chuckling.

Click, clack, click, clack…

The guy grimaced. “I don’t play for that team, dude.”

Dolfe shook him. “But I thought you always felt up your friends. I’m thinking you and me are friends.”

“Damn it, Dolfe!” A soft, long-fingered hand gripped his arm, tugging on it. “Let him go.”

Dolfe inhaled deeply, her exquisite scent spearing his senses and rolling like warm butter over his nerves. “Stay out of this, honey. The guy dissed you. I’m takin’ care of it.”

She tugged harder. “Dolfe Honeybun, you let go of him right now and come with me.”

He finally turned to look at her and forgot to breathe. He’d almost forgotten how beautiful she was…how delicious she looked and smelled. He frowned, turning back to the punk. “Learn respect you little jerk.” He dragged the guy off the ground another half inch just to drive home his point and then flung him away.

The punky kid stumbled backward several steps, his friends catching him before he landed on his ass.

Dolfe turned away and immediately forgot him. He grinned. “Hey, honey. You look stunning as always.”

Blaise glared at him, her long, slender arms crossed over her chest. Her pretty brown eyes flashed with pique. “Let’s take a little walk, shall we?” She started down the sidewalk, her four inch high spiked heels click-clacking angrily against the concrete.

Dolfe winked at the disgruntled punk and started after her, his gaze sliding over the crowd of males to ensure nobody else got any ideas about disrespecting his girl.

He blinked, his stomach twisting with disappointment. Scratch that. Blaise was now his ex-girlfriend. They’d broken up the week before. Basically because of the very thing he’d just interrupted.

Blaise hit the corner and stopped, turning back to him with a decidedly unhappy look on her beautiful face. The golden light from the streetlamp illuminated her delicious form, making her look like an ebony skinned angel with fire in her veins. She fairly vibrated with rage. Her whole form was taut with it, her delicate jaw working over the words she no doubt wanted to fling his way.

She didn’t even wait for him to reach her before she launched. “What the hell is wrong with you? What are you doing stalking me?”

Dolfe drifted to a stop and shoved his hands into his pockets, holding her fiery gaze. He was fully aware he’d acted badly but he didn’t care. He’d do it again in a heartbeat.

New Release! Sangui: Alphas of the Blood

Just in time for Halloween!

SanguiAlphasofBlood

He’s an elite vampire from a distant planet…an Alpha of the Blood.
But he’s no match for one spunky and opinionated Earth woman!

The Alphas of the Blood are an elite, alien race of vampires. They escaped a devastated planet that was overrun with plague-infected beasts and came to Earth for a chance at a new life…a new beginning. The change is bitter-sweet for Zeenon Akba, who lost much of his family in the plague wars and fears his only brother might have carried the infection to Earth with him. But when Zee stumbles upon a pretty human female being stalked by an infected, he’s determined to help her, even if it means killing his own brother. Aware of their many differences and the necessity of finding a blood slave to be his mate, Zee doesn’t intend to lose his heart to pretty and spunky Brooke Carlin. So why can’t he get her out of his mind?

~~*~~

He unbuttoned the blouse she wore, pulling it aside. Though he’d intended to remain clinical about the blood exchange, the first sight of the soft, milk chocolate mounds of her breasts bulging from a lacy white bra nearly made him forget what he was doing.

His mouth watered at the sight. His fangs elongated.

He closed his eyes and embraced his alpha, feeling its potency slide over him. The energy he embraced was hot and welcoming and urgent. Hungry.

His skin swelled under the change. His core temperature rose. Lust, anger, fear…every emotion he’d brought into that place intensified, flowing over him like fur over a beast when it changed. His alpha was like a beast. It was beast-like in its level of need…in the simplicity of its purpose.

If it hungered it ate. If it lusted it took, it tasted and ravished. The alpha was a sentient being with Zee’s humanoid form as its skin. But its mind was not human. Its mind was strength and power and ravenous hunger.

~~*~~

Kidren Bell wiped sweat from his brow and forced himself to keep moving forward through the dense wood. He could almost feel the moon pulsing against his skin, driving every cell in his body into hyper drive, so that his skin jumped with it and his senses throbbed under its pull.

His fangs ached with the desire to drop, his mouth watered with anticipation of the blood his body craved. When he lifted a hand to push moisture laden leaves from his path his hand was shaking.

Kidren was in a bad way.

He’d always had trouble under a full moon. But a Blue Moon was more than twice as powerful. And to make matters worse, the air was thick with the scent and call of the mating heat. He knew he was getting close to the core of Lupa Guardian territory. He could feel the pack’s excitement in the air.

They’d formed a wide ranging circle around him the moment he’d stepped into the wood. Staying well out of sight, but close enough to quickly surround him if they felt he meant them harm, the powerful pack wasn’t taking any chances with a dominant predator in their midst.

Even if he was there to help.

He smelled the blood well before he reached pack Headquarters. It wasn’t an appetizing scent, despite the tang of fear attached to it. A reluctant aphrodisiac to those of his kind.

It was old blood. Cold blood. A chilling reminder of a violent death rather than the hot enticement of vibrant life.

Kidren became aware of another scent as he stepped into the wide clearing. It was a much more enticing scent. In fact, it made his fangs drop and his groin tighten immediately.

She stepped in front of him almost before he knew she was there. She stood with her legs spread and her hands on softly rounded hips, looking like a warrior.

She’d been waiting for him.

He growled his surprise, showing her his fangs before he could stop himself. Amazingly, her answering growl didn’t fill him with aggression.

It made his cock tighten with need.

She was very tall, very lean, with rounded hips and full breasts. Her legs were impossibly long and shapely, with the highly toned musculature of a creature who spends an inordinate amount of her time running and leaping.

Her small, heart shaped face was framed by a short afro, which was the perfect counterpoint to her features.

Her golden eyes were almond shaped and turned up slightly at the outside corners, giving her an exotic look. Her nose was long and straight, flaring slightly at the bottom as she scented him. Her mouth was a burgundy tinted cupid’s bow, which was currently pursed with disapproval.

Her skin was the color of rich earth, frosted with morning dew.

She made his fangs pulse.

Lanna Sato clenched her muscles and held her breath in an attempt to retain control. The male standing before her was blasting pheromones like a window air conditioning unit set on high.

With the blue moon and the mating heat already upon her, Lanna could barely function as it was. Now she had a brutal murder to deal with, and a strange male intruding on her world. It was the last thing she needed at that moment. Especially when the new male looked to be nearly seven feet tall and weighed around two fifty, most of it muscle. The man stretched the bounds of a soft, charcoal gray t-shirt and tested the seams on a fashionably tattered pair of jeans. His arms arced away from his lean torso, too laden with muscle to rest against his body, and the fists that were clenched at his sides were the size of snack plates.

He had longish, curly, light brown hair that rested against the thick column of his neck and fell across a wide brow in a charmingly unruly fashion. His eyes were a deep, turquoise blue, like the Mediterranean Sea.

Lanna’s mouth watered as she took in his wide mouth. His lips looked full enough to nibble and soft enough to suck.

She bit back a sigh and glared at him. “I presume you’re the elite protector sent by the Vampire Commission?”

The Commission was the ruling body for all things paranormal in the States. When something went awry in the supernatural world, the Commission sent out a Lupire, one of their top cops, to deal with it.

“I am.” He lifted one of the snack plates toward her. “Name’s Kidren…Kidren Bell.”

“As in ring my?”She ignored the offered hand, afraid to touch him for fear that she might yank him in for a taste if she did.

He dropped the hand. His chuckle was a husky promise in the magic saturated air. “If you insist.”

Lanna shook her head. “That’s just the mating heat talkin’, Kidren. I don’t want you to get the wrong idea or anything.”

His narrow, sea blue gaze skimmed her from head to toe, lingering noticeably on the in between parts. “I don’t think that’s possible.”

Lanna felt herself sliding under a thick fog of pure lust.

“And your name is?”

She jumped a little. For a moment she’d succumbed to the blood boiling effects of his open, appreciative appraisal. “Uh…sorry. Lanna Sato, I’m the Regulator for the Lupa Guardian pack.”

“Regulator huh?” She watched a spark of new interest light his eyes. Lanna grinned. A man who wasn’t threatened by a powerful female. Interesting.

She jerked her head toward the log building across the clearing. “She’s over here.”

New Release – Honeybun on the Run

honeybunontherun-500

She’s fighting to protect everything she cares about. He can’t resist a damsel in distress. But he has no idea how high the cost will be if they fail.

Clovis Honeybun is working undercover to catch an assassin targeting his uncle, Senator Brick Honeybun. But his search is waylaid when he spots a pretty woman being mistreated by a guy who looks a lot like his target. Going rogue on a dangerous hunch, Clovis plunges down a trail that might be the right direction but the wrong bad guy. Ultimately, Clovis discovers he could have to choose between saving the woman burrowing her way into his heart, or a man he’s loved and respected since he was old enough to crawl.

~~*~~

Hoping to pull his mind from thoughts of a naked Emma, he reached out and tugged the drapes open a couple of inches, giving himself a narrow strip through which he could keep an eye on the sidewalk.

He was still staring out the window, his mind swirling with lustful thoughts, when the bathroom door opened and Emma came out.

Clovis sucked air as he turned and found her wrapped only in a small white towel.

She blushed. “I…” She bit her lush bottom lip, seemingly unnerved beneath his stark, hungry stare. “I had to wash out my clothes and I couldn’t bear the thought of putting them back on wet.”

Clovis’s gaze locked desperately onto her face, terrified if he let it wander he’d fixate on her nicely rounded breasts and slender thighs like some kind of sexual predator. He swallowed hard, forcing himself to speak. “I brought dinner.”

Her gaze slid to the collection of foil bags and cans on the table. “A veritable bounty of vitamins and minerals.”

Clovis shrugged, desperately clutching his soda can until it crumpled between his fingers. “There are probably some minerals in the can. You could lick that…”

Her eyes widened and heat flared in his cheeks as his joke went awry. “I, ah.” Clovis shrugged. “It’s not much but it will keep us going for a while.”

She grinned. “I’m starving. Thanks for this.” Emma grabbed a package of peanut butter crackers and a bag of trail mix. She put her hand on the can of club soda and lifted a well-trimmed black brow in question.

“It’s yours,” Clovis responded.

“Thanks.” She turned and headed toward the double bed nearest the back wall. Clovis couldn’t stop himself from watching her tread lightly away, her pert little backside swaying enticingly.

He shifted in his chair, intensely uncomfortable.

She dropped her goodies onto the bedspread and slipped under the covers. Tucking the blanket up under her armpits, Emma ripped the crackers open and bit into one, her tongue coming out to sweep across her bee-stung lips.

Clovis surged out of his chair and strode toward the bathroom. He didn’t stop when she called his name, closing himself into the still-steamy room and unnecessarily locking the door.

Closing his eyes, he leaned against the door, taking deep breaths. The moist room smelled like flowers and clean woman. He tried not to picture her naked beneath the sheets. But the harder he tried, the more his traitorous mind framed the picture, giving it the most exquisite detail. He opened his eyes and turned toward the shower, impatient for the relief a cold shower would give him.

His gaze fell on a silky triangle of orange and yellow satin hanging over the shower bar. The tiny panties had a bright, yellow bow at the top, centered on a filmy strip of lace. “Good lord,” he muttered, scrubbing a hand over his face.

Next to the panties was a matching bra whose cups were cut low and comprised mostly of lace.

Her nipples would show right through that lace.

With a desperate groan, Clovis wrenched the shower curtain back and turned on the water. Weighting the temperature heavily toward cold, he decided it was going to be a long and painful night.

New Release — Tall, Dark & Apocalyptic by Sam Cheever

talldarkapocolyptic_USA TODAY

Apart they are pain and death…apocalyptic. Together they are fire and magic…destiny.

He’s a warrior, a bounty hunter in a world turned upside down. She’s his latest bounty…a creature of dark power. As everything in their world implodes, they must work together to set it right, while the fire burning between them threatens to consume everything in its path.

 ~~*~~

5 Shooting Stars! Redz World Reviews: “…reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet with a post world war feel. Even the secondary characters were unforgettable… Tall, Dark and Apocalyptic by Sam Cheever will engage you on multiple levels; many you won’t even realize until long after you finish the tale.”

Reader Review: “It is worth buying this collection alone just to have Tall, Dark and Apocalyptic by Sam Cheever. This book complete embodies the title of this collection. It is also steamy and well written with really enjoyable characters.”

5 stars! Deb Thomas – Beta Reader/Reviewer: “Sam Cheever has created a world full of death, hope and love. This story pulls you and has you rooting for the good guys and some of the bad guys too. I really enjoyed this story. I would love to read more about the twenty worlds.”

5 stars! – Linda Bass – Goodreads Reviewer: “The year is 2090 and war had destroyed the land. Yiera Ruth days had been lonely except for the ancient nome kindress when she was just a child. Audie Kord, a deadly Soceri warrior, took his orders as gospel. He and his fellow warriors were order by headquarters and search out and kill the evil scourge that the black with had credited. But there was one woman… (who) had managed to elude him time after time! Dare he trust her? and why was his head saying not to trust her but his heart said yes????????”

5 stars – Venus Cahill Reviews: “This story jumps right into the action and never lets up! Yeira is a kick-butt heroine but she’s still easy to relate to, which was surprising considering her amazingly unique situation. Kord is the ultimate Alpha and he took my breath away. He’s masculine and imposing and while he is steadfast and dependable he is also a good man at heart. The setting becomes almost a third lead character and I loved it. I cannot wait to read more stories about the fabulous world this author has created. I will freely admit to being a huge fan of this author, I love her Honeybun series but I was a little apprehensive of reading an apocalyptic story as I rarely enjoy them but this one was a definite exception not only did I thoroughly enjoy it I want more!”

Booked Solid With Virginia C: “Tall, Dark & Apocalyptic is an involving adventure, a passionate love story, and a fascinating look into a fantasy-fueled future world.”

Yeira stopped beside a sparkling, blue creek that wound across one end of the strange forest. “We can rest here.”

Audie looked skyward as a new round of frustrated shrieking sounded. The vultures circled high above the softly swaying branches of the droopy trees, their eerie red gazes hopefully scouring the ground. “We need to find shelter. It’s only a matter of time before they come in here after us.”

Yeira crouched beside the creek, cupping her hands and filling them with the clear blue water. She took a drink and splashed it over her face. “They won’t come in here. The marauders don’t like poivron trees.”

Audie looked at his arms. The bloody gashes hurt like hell but they weren’t bubbling and seething like his face the last time he bumped up against the disgusting birds. “You sure that water’s safe?”

Yeira looked at him, her bright blue gaze sliding over his wounds. “The reborn cleaned the poisons from this wood and coated it with cloaking magics. It’s protected and safe.” She looked around, a slight frown on her face. “For a while anyway. With the nest gone I feel the magic waning.”

Audie followed her lead and crouched beside the creek, submerging his hands and dousing his wounds with the cool, clean water. It stung but seemed a better alternative than infection.

Yeira disappeared and came back a moment later holding one of the fat, white flowers. “Here, give me your arms.”

“Why?”

Her gaze snapped with temper. “Seriously? You don’t trust me yet?”

He did trust her. Against his better judgment. But Audie wasn’t about to admit that. He shrugged. “Simmer down, woman. It was a simple question.”

She shook her head, clearly disgusted with him. “The poivron flower has great healing properties.” Yeira dug her fingertips into the flower’s center and ripped it in half. A thick gel oozed out of the orange middle and a sharp, peppery scent thickened on the air.

She dipped her fingers into the gel and reached for his arm. “This might sting a little.”

Her soft, tapered fingers slid over the ragged, red scratches on his forearms, gentle but firm. The gel went on cool but quickly heated on his skin, so much so that Audie grimaced from the heat. “You sure this is a good idea? It feels like it’s burning me.”

Her response was to dip her fingers again. “Give me your other arm.”

Audie held her determined gaze for a moment and then reluctantly did as she asked. A small smile curved her lips as she observed his reluctance. “Don’t be such a big baby.”

Audie’s irritation with her spiked, but her soft fingers rubbing his torn skin soothed it quickly away. Somehow the heat from the gel she was applying had moved south, causing a secondary fire in his groin.

“Take off your pants.”

Audie blinked, his eyes widening as he realized she was serious. “Um, I don’t think…”

She gave an exasperated sigh. “Don’t worry, hunter, your virtue is safe with me. Those need tending to.” She jerked her head to indicate the deep gouges on his thigh.

“It’s okay. I’ll deal with them later.”

“No. The vulture’s claws aren’t poisonous like their saliva, but they’re hotbeds of disease. If we don’t cleanse and medicate those gouges right away you’ll get a raging infection and might even lose your leg.”

Audie swallowed hard. “Give me the flower, I can do it.” The heat in his groin flared and his cock thickened, jerking under the sticky leather pants. How did he warn her that he was commando under the leather?

“I swear to god, I’ve never seen such a baby. I promise I won’t look at you.”

Irritation flared again and Audie gave her a mean smile. “Okay, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Audie shoved to his feet and reached for the band of his pants, tugging the fastener open. With his gaze fixed on Yeira’s so he could watch her reaction, he dragged his battle pants over his hips and down his thighs.

Her pretty gaze widened. She sucked in a breath as his rock-hard cock popped free, dancing on the air between them.

Yeira licked her lips, murmuring, “Good god in heaven.”

Audie lifted an eyebrow. “I tried to warn you.”

“Shut up, Hunter.” She swallowed visibly, her gaze never wavering from his cock. “Just shut the hell up.” Her delicate fingers twitched as if she wanted to reach across the space and touch him. Suddenly Audie wanted that too.
